£3.5m Craigavon Production Facility Opens

A new £3.5m logistics and product training facility has officially opened at Glen Dimplex NI Limited in Craigavon.

Glen Dimplex NI is part of the Glen Dimplex Group, which specialises in the manufacture and distribution of a range of renewable energy products and electrical appliances for cooking and heating.

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster (pictured) welcomed the opening. She said: "This significant investment by Glen Dimplex, is testimony to the company's commitment to and belief in Northern Ireland as a region in which to grow its business."

The Minister said the new product training facility will allow the Glen Dimplex Group to showcase its expertise in the design and manufacture of a range of sustainable energy technologies to existing and potential worldwide distribution customers.

The new logistics and product training facility at Craigavon will support the activities of the Republic of Ireland-based Group's other local subsidiaries, Glen Electric Limited in Newry and Seagoe Technologies Limited in Portadown. Together, the Glen Dimplex Group of companies employs around 500 people in Northern Ireland.

Dr Martin Naughton, Executive Chairman of the Glen Dimplex Group, said: "Despite the very tough economic conditions that we are all too aware of, Glen Dimplex Northern Ireland has achieved substantial growth in sales over the past year.

"With these new facilities and a first class team of people, I look forward to seeing our business here going from strength to strength."
