Car Thief Teen Dies In Crash

A 16-year-old boy has died after crashing a stolen car in north Belfast, police confirmed this morning.

The boy was driving the car on the Upper Crumlin Road after midnight when the collision happened.

It is believed the stolen blue Peugeot 206 collided with a red Audi A2.

The boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries and died a short time later, police said.

It is understood the teenager was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

There is no confirmation of the seriousness of injuries sustained by the other driver, although they were also taken to hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident there has been a serious crash on the Upper Malone Road in south Belfast.

The road was closed after the two-vehicle collision close to the entrance of Lady Dixon Park on Monday morning.

One person has been taken to hospital with multiple fractures.
