Bangor Security Alert Declared 'Hoax'
Police have said a security alert in Co Down was a hoax.
Balloo Avenue in Bangor was evacuated this morning, following the discovery of a suspicious object.
The object was found at the site of engineering works in the rear yard of a DIY store. Army bomb disposals experts attended the scene in the west of the town, close to the Rathgael roundabout and the Department of Education's headquarters.
The alert was raised before 9am today, at lunch time the area was reopened
Meanwhile, the Antrim Road has been reopened, following a separate security alert.
The road was closed at Carlisle Circus and the junction at Duncairn Garden.
Police said device was not suspicious.

Suspicious Object Sparks Antrim Security Alert
Police are currently dealing with a security alert in County Antrim. The discovery of a suspicious object sparked the operation on the A6 Belfast Road on Thursday 31 January. The road has been closed between the New Lodge and Rathmore roads. Diversions are in place and airport traffic is not likely to be affected.

Suspicious object found on Lurgan rail line
The Portadown to Lisburn railway line has been reopened following a security alert in Lurgan. The closure was caused by the discovery of a suspicious object on the track near Lurgan earlier today. The route was closed and a bus service laid on to facilitate passengers while checks were carried out on the line.

Security Alert Launched In Co Tyrone
The PSNI have launched a security alert in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. A suspicious object was discovered in the Fairmount Park area on Wednesday, 17 January. The road has been closed and a number of residents have been evacuated from their homes. No further information has been released.

Two suspicious objects have been removed for further examination after sparking a security alert in south Belfast. A number of houses were evacuated following the discovery in Ulidia House on the Donegall Road on the evening of Thursday 15 November. The area was sealed off while Army Bomb Experts carried out forensic examinations.
