Appeal Following City Centre Attack
Detectives in Belfast have appealed for information following an incident during which an 18-year-old man was struck in the face with a broken bottle in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Initial enquiries suggest that the man was in a taxi in the area of St George's Market at around 12.30am when a group of youths approached the vehicle.
It is believed that one of these youths attempted to pull the victim from the car and another struck him in the face with a broken bottle.
The victim sustained a number of injuries to his face, mouth and ear.
One of the males is described as around 5' 2" in height with black hair and a piercing to his left ear. He was wearing a grey tracksuit with green stripes on both arms.
Detectives investigating this assault are keen to speak to witnesses and would ask anyone who was in the area to contact them at Musgrave Street CID by calling 0845 600 8000.
Alternatively information about crime can be given anonymously by calling the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.

Co Fermanagh man suffers broken nose in robbery
A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.

Man Arrested Over Assault On Pensioner
A man has been arrested following an assault on a 72-year-old at his home on the Doagh Road are of Newtownabbey on Saturday. The elderly man received a suspected broken ankle and cuts to his face in the attack. The 20-year-old remains in custody for questioning.

Family attacked with broken bottle
Detectives in Castlereagh are appealing for information following an attack on a family outside Carryduff. A family-of-four had been travelling by car on the Hillsborough Road when two men assaulted them at around 9:00pm on Tuesday. The mother was struck in the face with a broken bottle while the grandfather was struck in the back of the head.
