Dublin Bus Services Restored
Most Dublin Bus services in the capital have been restored following strike action.
Those operating out of the Harristown depot are still being curtailed by workers, but Dublin Bus has announced that the Clontarf, Conyngham Road, Phibsboro and Summerhill depots are no longer affected.
However, it is expect that normal bus services will resume from the other four depots early this afternoon.
Passengers have been advised to contact the company, or check its website for updates.
Crucial talks yesterday afternoon failed at resolving the unofficial industrial action at the company.
The dispute began on Sunday after a driver at the Harristown depot was suspended when he refused to work a new schedule.
In other transport news, taxi drivers are set to stage another protest in Dublin on Tuesday as part of their campaign against the issuing of new taxi licences.
The drivers will assemble on Merrion Square at around 3pm in the latest in a series of actions arranged by the group Taxi Drivers for Change.
They say there are now so many taxis on the roads that they have to work up to 90 hours-a-week to earn a decent wage.
A spokesman for Taxi Drivers For Change said: "The group has not, as yet, had a reply to its request for the resignation of the Taxi Regulation Commissioner and the abolishment of the office of the Taxi Regulation Commission who to date have contributed nothing on behalf of, or to, the ordinary full time Taxi Driver's working life."
