Scottish IT firm sets up operations in Lisburn
A Scottish computing firm is set to create 20 jobs over the next two years in Northern Ireland after it chose Lisburn as its main base for supporting customers throughout the province as well as the Republic of Ireland.
ACCESS Computing Limited, one of the UK's leading suppliers of large-scale computing solutions to universities, research organisations, health authorities and major commercial companies, were recently signed by Sun Microsystems as an Enterprise System Provider in Northern Ireland, following on from a successful partnership between the two companies in Scotland.
John Livingstone, Managing Director of ACCESS Computing, said: "We looked at many different locations but Lisburn is excellently located - close to Belfast and en route to Dublin and only two hours from our UK Headquarters in Livingston, West Lothian."
Mark Millar, a native of Belfast, will head up the new Lisburn office and plans to build a team of 20 employees over the coming months. ACCESS has already signed contracts with customers in Northern Ireland for equipment and services worth over stg£1 million.
The company has been supplying major organisations throughout the UK with a secure, scalable, IT infrastructure for the last eight years. (MB)

New Building Projects For Lisburn City
