Fun Day At Stormont
A special bank holiday Monday awaits people from across Northern Ireland who are all invited to a Family Fun Day in the Stormont Estate.
While there's likely to continue to be 'political games' at the Stormont Assembly itself - especially given the DUP's announcement of an end to MLA/MP 'double-jobbing' - there's to be a fun day for all this weekend too.
Held in aid of BBC Children in Need, the fun day - on Monday 25 May - offers a wealth of activities from Punch & Judy shows and bouncy castles to giant slides and crazy golf.
Organised by the Department of Finance and Personnel's Delivery and Innovation Division, the event will take place from 10am to 6pm.
Minister Nigel Dodds (pictured) is encouraging families to come along and join in with all the fun.
"Parents are always trying to come up with new ways to keep the children amused and entertained on Bank Holidays.
"This Family Fun Day at Stormont has something on offer for all ages to guarantee great family fun.
"There are puppet shows, penalty kick competitions and dog agility and heelwork to music displays. There is even the opportunity to meet Pudsey and have your photograph taken with him," he enthused.
Other attractions include displays by the NI Fire and Rescue Service, W5 and Exploris Aquarium as well as bungee trampolining, a climbing tower, face painting and a Sweet Tucker Trial, where children will have to guess the flavoured sweets whilst blindfolded.
There will also be some musical entertainment, a few MLAs will even be singing and the winner and runner–up in this year's NI Young Musician of Year competition will be playing for inside Parliament Buildings, while outside - weather permitting - Dundonald Community Concert Band will entertain.
Those attending should note that vehicle entrance to the Stormont Estate will only be via Stoney Road.
Visitors coming from the direction of the Ards Peninsula are asked to use the car park at Dundonald High School where park and ride facilities will be available.

Hugo Duncan Set For Stormont Residence
BBC DJ Hugo Duncan is to visit his show on Stormont this Bank Holiday Monday during a family fun day at the estate. Visteon Protest Continues
As recession-hit workers in west Belfast continue their protest sit-in for its seventh day, it has emerged that talks in New York this week could decide their fate. The workers are occupying car plants in demand for improved redundancy payments and even held a family fun day on Sunday with speakers supporting their demands for better pay-offs.
