TASK Software to supply IT solutions to Blyth Council
Northern Ireland-based TASK Software has been selected by Anite Public Sector to supply its Contractor software for Blyth Valley Borough Council in Northumberland.
Following a four-month evaluation Anite chose the TASK solution as part of its eight-year managed IT services commitment for Blyth as it offered the best combination of rich functionality and a modern technology platform, which integrates easily with Anite Housing.
The TASK system will be installed on Windows 2000 running SQL server and managed as part of the overall Anite contract.
Blyth Valley Borough Council is the growth point and industrial centre of Northumberland County. Although it covers the smallest area of any of the local districts within the county it contains the highest population. The Authority is seeking to be at the forefront of a modernised agenda aimed at improving the delivery of services to customers and this upgrade is designed to assist with the councils endeavours to keep in line with the eGovernment and Best Value Agenda.
Commenting on their selection Geoff Paul, Chief Executive Blyth Valley Borough Council said: “This is an exciting development for the Council and the people of Blyth Valley. This partnership with TASK Software and Anite Public Sector Ltd and the financial support from local government can only be a good thing to help us modernise and upgrade our services.”
TASK Software has been providing IT solutions to the local government market for the last 15 years. It is now a leading supplier to the DSO and Housing markets, and has recently been expanding into the broader local government market, as well as related sectors such as housing associations and fire services.
TASK is a member of the Consilium Technologies, a group of businesses which together are working with all the key pieces of the eGovernment jigsaw puzzle.
