Man Held After 'Arson' Stand-Off
A man is this afternoon in police custody after an incident where premises at Dargan Road had to be evacuated.
Staff were forced to leave their offices in the north Belfast facility after a man - said to be carrying a quantity of fuel - refused to leave. It has been reported that police surrounded the building and that specially trained negotiators had been sent in.
The man was understood to be inside an architects' office.
Three fire engines attended at the scene when the workers were evacuated at about 10.30am on Monday morning.
A short police statement this afternoon said that a man, aged 62, was assisting police enquiries as they investigated alleged attempted arson with intent to endanger life and aggravated burglary.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.

A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.
