Stroke Fundraisers Team Up With Bakery
One of NI's stroke charities knows which side 'its bread is buttered on'.
The Stroke Association Northern Ireland has announced a new fundraising partnership with Irwin's Bakery, to support their 'Use Your Loaf' campaign.
It aims to prove that fundraising doesn't have to be time consuming and expensive, with the idea that fundraisers should just make sandwiches and sell them to your friends, family and work colleagues as a way of generating revenue.
The bakers of Nutty Krust and Irwin's Softee have committed their support to te scheme which will be launched in late June.
It will be featured on a range of Irwin's bread and will encourage members of the public to help raise vital funds for stroke survivors, their carers and families across Northern Ireland.
Tom Richardson, Director of The Stroke Association NI commented: "In Northern Ireland today, 12 people will have a stroke.
"Four of those people will recover, four will recover but will be left with permanent disabilities and four will die," he said, noting that partnerships such as that with Irwin's Bakery are vital in helping The Stroke Association NI to raise vital funds and continue supporting stroke survivors, carers and families.
"We would like to say a huge thank you to the bakery for their support with this new fundraising initiative and we are really looking forward to officially launching 'Use Your Loaf' in the summer," he concluded.
