Bord na Móna Strike Deferred
Although it is understood that workers will be balloted on Thursday on new proposals from the company, unions at troubled Bord na Móna have deferred strike action.
The news came after a meeting this morning which also resulted in a picket being lifted.
It was placed on some Bord na Mána works this morning, but the action has now been halted until the ballot in Tullamore.
Workers at Bord na Móna bogs in Offaly, Westmeath and Longford had voted in favour of strike action three weeks ago.
Still on employment news and it has emerged that US medical technology group, Cook Medical, is to win regulatory approval soon on a new device being developed in Limerick.
They said it will change the lives of millions of people around the world suffering from circulatory problems.
The company is well in to a recruitment campaign that will see 200 new staff working on its new Zilver PTX drug-eluting stent, which is used for the treatment of blocked arteries in the leg.
Cook Medical is investing €25m in a manufacturing and services facility in Limerick that will create the 200 jobs over the next five years and is currently building a state-of-the-art Clean Room.

Bord Na Mona Workers To Escalate Industrial Action
The Bord Na Mona Group of Unions has decided to escalate its industrial action with a two day stoppage on 27th and 28th June. The Group held discussions in Tullamore, county Offaly, during which the group of unions assessed the impact and response to the one day stoppage last week.

Second Day Of Strike For Bord na Móna Workers
Hundreds of Bord na Móna workers have undertaken a two-day work stoppage which began at 12.00 am on Wednesday, 27th June. The Bord Na Móna Group of Unions decided to embark on the strike action due to the refusal of management at the semi-state company to honour pay increases due to workers under the Towards 2016 transitional agreement.

Purepipe To Create Six New Jobs
Belfast-based Purepipe is investing £250,000 and creating six new jobs as part of plans to boost sales in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. Invest Northern Ireland has offered the company £45,000 towards its expansion which involves investing in new state-of-the-art specialised pipe manufacturing equipment needed to target new business.

Bord Na Móna Jobs In Jeopardy
Some 500 Bord Na Móna workers are fearing for their jobs as news of extended closures to Offaly and Longford power stations emerged. It was confirmed today the two power stations in the midlands would be closed for prolonged periods during the next two years.
