Victim Slams Victims Commissioners

The woman whose parents died in the infamous IRA Shankill bomb has vowed to press on with her legal challenge to the Victims Commission. The core problem remains the definition of 'victimhood' with perpetrators granted equal status with victims in legislation and government schemes, Michelle Williamson said yesterday. She also argued there was no legal authority to appoint four commissioners, and said: "To me it's just a question of right and wrong and I always thought the courts were supposed to be on the side of right." Her criticism came as the High Court upheld the decision of former First Minister Ian Paisley and his deputy, Martin McGuinness in appointing four Victims Commissioners.
