£500k Investment In Craigavon Homes

Over 80 homes on the Meadowbrook Estate in Craigavon are to undergo improvement works, the NI Housing Executive has announced.

The £500,000 scheme is part of the agency's programme to improve housing stock in addition to the normal planned maintenance programme and repair service.

District Manager Colin Ross said the investment demonstrates the Housing Executive’s commitment to ensuring tenants have "comfortable homes that are to modern day standards".

"The kitchens in these homes are being totally modernised and extended in some to provide a dining area," he said,

"This type of work makes a significant difference to the lives of our tenants.

"Tenants have been able to choose their kitchen units and work tops from a range of finishes. The upgrade includes associated plumbing and electrical work including the installation of smoke alarms and heat detectors."

He added: "We will continue to liaise with our tenants throughout the scheme to ensure the work is completed to programme and any issues are addressed as they arise."
