Police investigate shooting in Londonderry

The police in Londonderry have said they have not ruled out a sectarian motive for a gun attack in the city.

Four shots were fired at a house at Shephard's Glen in the Waterside area of the city about 10.30pm on Wednesday March 20.

It is believed a number of Catholics from the Cityside area share the accommodation.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Forensic officers found strike marks around the front windows of the house but no bullets entered the property.

Inspector Brian McKeown said the intended targets were Catholics and that a sectarian motive was one of the theories being investigated.
