East Belfast Indecent Attack Probed
Police have appealed for information after a woman was indecently assaulted in east Belfast yesterday evening.
Detectives said the incident happened around 4.50pm, as the woman walked along the Green Way (a pedestrian walkway) between North Road and Sandown. She was approached by a man who grabbed her in an indecent manner and pulled her to the ground.
After a struggle, he fled on foot along the Sandown Road towards the Upper Newtownards Road.
The assailant is described as aged in his early 20s, around 6ft tall and with broad shoulders. He had short hair which was wavy at the top.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has information which could help detectives should contact 0845 600 8000 as soon as possible, alternatively information about crime can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.
