Recording studios provide facilities and technical services for capturing and producing sound. They are commonly used by musicians and bands to record vocals and instruments, as well as by voice artists, broadcasters and other clients making spoken-word content. Studios may offer treated recording rooms, sound isolation, microphones, instruments, headphones and monitoring equipment, alongside a control room for operating recording systems. Services can include session recording, audio editing, mixing and, in some cases, mastering to prepare finished recordings for release or broadcast. A studio may provide a sound engineer or producer to manage equipment, help achieve the required sound and organise recording sessions. Some also cater for podcasts, audiobooks, voice-overs, live sessions or location recording, and may supply recording files in formats agreed with the client.
