Britons On Stricken Beirut Flight
Two British nationals are among 90 people feared dead after a plane crashed following take-off from the Lebanese capital Beirut.
So far 21 bodies have been recovered from the stricken Boeing 737 remains floating in the Mediterranean.
The plane, bound for Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, plummeted into the sea in a ball of fire, according to sources.
There have been no reports of survivors. British Foreign Office officials have confirmed one UK national was on board along with one person with dual nationality.
The spokeswoman said: "Our thoughts are with the families of all those involved in this tragedy."
No further details about the two people would be released until next of kin had been informed, the spokeswoman added.
Ethiopian Airlines said there were 82 passengers and 8 crew on board the flight.
The passenger list included two Britons, 51 Lebanese, 23 Ethiopians, and one person each from Canada, France, Russia, Turkey, Syria and Iraq.
Police investigating the crash have ruled out terrorism, but insist inquires are ongoing.
An Ethiopian Airlines statement said: "A team is already working on gathering all pertinent information.
"An investigative team has already been dispatched to the scene and we will release further information as further updates are received."

Madeleine McCann Suspects To Be Interviewed By Police
British police officers have returned to Portugal to question a number of suspects over the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. The suspects, who are all Portuguese nationals according to the BBC, are expected to be interviewed over the following days. All will reportedly be interviewed at a police station in either Portimao or Faro.

Britons Speak Of New Zealand Earthquake
UK citizens caught in the devastation of the Christchurch earthquake have spoken out about the chaos that took place in New Zealand's second city. The 6.3-magnitude earthquake, which struck at lunchtime, is believed to have killed around 65 people. A British backpacker said the area "looked like a bomb had hit it".

Two Britons Die In Light Aircraft Crash
The two Britons who died in a plane crash have been named as John Ritchie, 81, and Kevin Young, 54. According to reports, the Italian pilot and his wife were also killed when the light aircraft came down near Rovereto in the north west of the country yesterday. The passengers were on the return leg of their journey.
