Wrexham Killing Probed
A murder investigation is under way after police found the body of a 25-year-old woman at a house in Wrexham. North Wales Police say they were called to an address in Montgomery Road at just after 1am on Monday. A spokesman said a 41-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and was in police custody. Detectives are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should ring 101, or 0845 6071001 (Welsh) or 0845 1002 (English).
Second Gatwick Runway Scrapped
Gatwick Airport's new owners say they have no plans to build a second runway at the West Sussex site. At a meeting with conservationists, Gatwick Chairman Sir David Rowlands said there was "not a shred of interest" in a second runway. Sir David talked about the future of the airport with members of the Gatwick Area Conservation Campaign (GACC). GACC chairman Brendon Sewill said the comments should kill off speculation and "a lot of uncertainty and anxiety".
Muslim Grave Damage Man Held
Police investigating the vandalism of Muslim graves in south Manchester have made an arrest. A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated criminal damage and has been bailed until 11 March pending further inquiries. Officers are investigating three incidents at Southern Cemetery in October and November 2009, when several headstones were pushed over and vandalised.
Attenborough's Forest For Sale
More than 5,000 Bute islanders have the opportunity to vote on plans to buy a forest owned by film director Richard Attenborough. The community buyout proposal of the 2,000 acre Rhubodach Forest is valued at £1.4m. Bute Community Land Company, which has been set up to organise the buyout, aims raise the funds for the project using public grants and loans. This will be Scotland's biggest ever ballot on a community buyout proposal. In order for the plans to go ahead over half of the 5,000 islanders must vote in favour of the project before Thursday.
Sudden Livingston Death Probed
Police in West Lothian are investigating the unexplained death of a woman who was found dead at a property in Forestbank, Livingston on 4 February. The 39-year-old's body was discovered at around 12.40pm. A post mortem examination is due to take place, with investigations underway to establish the circumstances surrounding her death. Detective Chief Inspector Alan Crawford said: "Enquiries are at a very early stage, so we are keeping an open mind about what may have caused this woman's death. "Anyone who has any information that may assist our enquiries should contact police."
'Mercury Exposure' Director Prosecuted
A Glasgow-registered recycling company and a director have been fined a total of £145,000 for exposing workers to toxic mercury fumes at a site in West Yorkshire. Twenty employees had levels of mercury in their system above UK guidance levels, and five of them showed extremely high levels following the exposure between October 2007 and August 2008. Electrical Waste Recycling Group Ltd, registered to 400 Denmark Street in Glasgow, recycles electrical equipment, including fluorescent light tubes containing mercury and TV sets and monitors containing lead. The court heard that ventilation problems at a plant on School Lane, Kirkheaton, Huddersfield, meant employees were being exposed to potentially harmful emissions from both substances.

Body Found In Search For Missing Woman
A body has been discovered in Sutton Mill by police investigating the disappearance of Jennifer Hayman. The body was found at 18:00 on Thursday. Formal identification has not yet been made, but police said that Ms Hayman's family have been informed of the find. A post-mortem is due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Man Arrested For 2002 Murder Of Becky Godden
Police investigating the disappearance of Becky Godden on December 2002, have arrested a 51-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Ms Godden was aged 20 when she disappeared in Swindon on 27 December. Her remains were found in 2011 on farmland in Gloucestershire.

Man Arrested Over Sexual Assault In Somerset
Police investigating a sexual assault in Somerset, during which a mother and child were tied up and held at knifepoint, have arrested a 59-year-old man. Police arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated burglary and sexual assault, in connection with the incident in Sydenham, Bridgewater on 21 January.

Police Investigating If Woman Was Trying To Save Dog When She Was Hit By Train
British Transport Police investigating the death of a woman have said that she may have been trying to save a dog when she was hit by a train. The 22-year-old woman was struck by a train close to Ainsdale station near Southport, Merseyside at about 15:00 on Wednesday. Transport police said a dog was also found dead at the scene.

The body of Jayden Parkinson was found in an established grave in the Great Western Cemetery next to All Saints Church in Didcot on 18 December.
