Manchester Burglar Jailed
A man has been jailed for a number of burglaries in Longsight.
Kenneth Snabities, 21, formerly of Longsight, but now of Longton Road, Blackley pleaded guilty to one count of burglary and asked for a further nine burglaries to be taken into consideration.
He was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court Crown Square, yesterday, Monday 8 February, to three years in prison.
On Sunday 13 December 2009, the victim, a 52-year-old man, was at home on Richmond Grove, Longsight.
He opened the window in his dining room before going for a shower and then watching TV.
Around 6pm the victim walked back into his dining room and noticed his laptop, worth £500 had been stolen.
A shoeprint was found on the inside of the windowsill and Snabities fingerprints were found outside the window.
Snabities was arrested on Wednesday 16 December 2009 and when his home was searched a pair of trainers, which matched the shoeprint found at the victim's home, were seized.
The other nine burglaries Snabities asked to be taken into account were all committed in the Longsight area between November 2007 and December 2009.
Detective Sergeant Ian Shore of Longsight police station said: "Snabities is clearly a prolific offender who will take any opportunity to burgle houses and the open window proved too much of a temptation.
"The homes of Longsight are a safer place now Snabities is behind bars."
