Arrest At Sex Claim Playgroup
One person has been arrested in connection with an alleged sexual assault at a Welsh playgroup.
Dyfed Powys Police today confirmed they had received an allegation of sexual assault at St Padarn's Playgroup in Aberystwyth.
A spokesman said one person had been arrested in connection with this allegation and released on police bail.
The playgroup is registered by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) and is independent of St Padarn's Roman Catholic school.
It has been temporarily closed pending further investigation and this will be reviewed daily, the police said this afternoon.
A multi-agency meeting has been held, in line with the All Wales Child Protection Procedures and ‘Working Together’ Welsh Assembly Government guidance.
Ceredigion Social Services is making staff available to offer help and support to families via the contact centre on 01545 574000.
"Dyfed Powys Police take any allegation of this kind seriously and have specially trained officers to deal with any victims and any alleged offenders," added the constabulary spokesman.

Rod Richards, 61, a former Clwyd West MP has been accused of attacking the party worker who was canvassing door-to-door on Wednesday evening. He was held over night at Cardiff’s Fairwater Police Station for questioning.
