Kitchen Knife Killer Jailed
A woman has been jailed for life for murdering her long-term partner in Peterborough.
Kim Chapman, 51, was found guilty of killing Paul Delo, 38, at their home in Heath Row, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, on July 27 last year.
Cambridge Crown Court heard she had stabbed him in the throat with a kitchen knife.
Yesterday, Judge Anthony Bate jailed her for life, setting a minimum tariff of 14 years, minus the 190 days she has already served in custody.
Judge Bate said a "petty argument" had led to the murder, which took place after Chapman and Mr Delo had been drinking and smoking cannabis at another couple's home.
He said Chapman had intended to kill him but was satisfied it was not a premeditated attack.
Judge Bate also branded Chapman a "fluent liar" who had created a "bogus defence".
Detective Inspector Dave Grierson, who led the police investigation, said: "The relationship between Kim Chapman and Paul Delo was a turbulent one and blighted by drink and drugs.
"On July 27 last year both had been drinking and smoking cannabis and another argument erupted, this time with fatal consequences.
"I hope the conclusion of this case allows Mr Delo's family and friends to move on."

Woman Charged With Triple Murder
A woman in her 30s has been charged in connection with the murders of three men whose bodies were fund in separate ditches. It is understood that 48-year-old Kevin Lee, was found in Newborough, Cambridgeshire, on 30 March, having died from stab wounds to the chest.

'No Sign' That Diana Was Pregnant
There were no physical signs that Diana, Princess of Wales, was pregnant when she died, a British pathologist who examined her has told the inquest into her death. Dr Robert Chapman carried out the post-mortem on the Princess on the night she died and told the inquest that the Princess' womb and ovaries did not show the telltale signs of pregnancy.
