Union Renews BA Talks Bid
Union bosses representing disgruntled British Airways cabin crew have said they are ready to talk to the airline again.
Workers are set to stage a seven day walkout this weekend in protest at working conditions and lay offs.
BA flight attendants will take to the picket line for three days from the 20 March, then staging for a further four days from 27 March.
Yesterday Prime Minister Gordon Brown described the industrial actions as "unjustified and deplorable".
A Unite spokesperson said this morning: "Unite is ready to meet BA. But the company needs to put its offer of last week back on the table.
"If BA thinks that strikes are going to be avoided with a worse offer, the company is conning the travelling public."
Unite accused BA of "still trying to bully and bludgeon its way through this".
"We need a serious approach to addressing cabin crew’s concerns," said the spokesperson.
"Our representatives on the ground are confident the strike will have overwhelming support among cabin crew, despite the company’s bullying and harassment, which risks poisoning the atmosphere on BA flights for years to come."
Reacting to the publication by BA of its strike-breaking flights schedule yesterday, Unite said: "BA should enter this schedule for the Booker Prize for fiction. It is an accomplished work of fantasy."

Unite, the union representing disgruntled British Airways cabin crew, has claimed the airline's pilots are now earning an additional £166 per hour. Unite said the pay changes makes them the world's most expensive on board staff.

Fresh BA Crew Ballot
British Airways cabin crew will hold a fresh ballot on possible industrial action, the Unite union has confirmed. BA Strike Stopped By Court
A proposed 12-day strike by British Airways cabin crew was deemed illegal at the High Court today. BA won an injunction against the action after claiming the union ballot wrongly included staff who were being made redundant. Talks between airline bosses and union officials ended without a resolution yesterday.
