Appeal To Find Musselburgh Woman
Police in East Lothian have made a fresh appeal for information on the whereabouts of Elizabeth McVey, who went missing from her home in Musselburgh a week ago today.
The 50-year-old mother-of-two was reported missing from her home in Eskview Road at around 7.30am last Monday.
Her disappearance sparked a major police operation in the Musselburgh area, involving specialist search teams and including mounted and helicopter patrols.
In addition, Elizabeth's family have made a public appeal for any information regarding her whereabouts.
Officers will today be carrying out high-visibility patrols in the area of Musselburgh Harbour, where Elizabeth was seen by two people at around 6am on 21 March Sunday.
It is believed that these people, who may have spoken to Elizabeth, could have information that can assist police.
A police spokesman said: "We are keen for any fresh information that can help shed any light on Elizabeth's movements in the day leading up to her disappearance, and of course any sightings of her since she went missing.
"We believe that Elizabeth may have spoken to two people who were in the area of Musselburgh Harbour early on Sunday morning, and we are keen to speak to them.
"Anyone else who has any other information that can assist our inquiries should also get in touch."
