Waltham Forest Murder Probed
Detectives from Scotland Yard have appealed for information and witnesses to come forward after a murder in Waltham Forest.
Police were called at around 12.50am on Sunday 11 April to a man suffering gunshot wounds in Seymour Road playing fields off Lea Bridge Road.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended, but a 37-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe they know the identity of the deceased, but await formal identification and confirmation that next-of-kin have been informed.
A post-mortem examination was held yesterday at Walthamstow mortuary.
Trident officers are investigating and an incident room has opened at West Hendon under DI Steve Horsley.
Anyone with information that may assist the inquiry should call the incident room on 020 8733 4704. To remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
"Officers retain an open mind as to any motive at this early stage," said a Met police spokesman.

Reward Offered For Information On 'Brutal' Murder
Detectives investigating the brutal murder of 24-year-old Rocky Dawson in 2006 have appealed for further information. Christopher Pearman, 54, of Waltham Abbey was convicted of shooting Mr Dawson last year and was ordered to serve a minimum of 23 years in jail.

Hunt for missing girl and US Marine moves to France
Police officers will travel to France later today in an attempt to trace a 12-year-old girl who is thought to have left the country on Saturday evening with a former US Marine. Shevaun Pennington, who is from Leigh in Cumbria, has not been seen since she left her home in Abbey Road in Lowton at 7.30am on July 12.

Isle Of Dogs Shooting Witness Appeal
Detectives investigating the shooting of German Gorbuntsov on 20 March continue to appeal for information to trace a suspect. The suspect described as white, 6ft tall and of slim build, and wearing a dark hooded top was seen running from Byng Street away from Westferry Road, believed through Bellamy Close, towards the Marsh Wall area.

Police Launch Baringside Murder Appeal
Detectives are appealing for information following the murder of a woman in the Barkingside area. Police were called shortly before 16:00hrs on Tuesday 7 February following reports of a disturbance at a flat along the High Street, Barkingside. Officers attended and discovered the body of a 17-year-old girl at the premises.
