Teenage Girl Accused Of Stab Murder
A 14-year-old girl will appear in court today accused of stabbing a 45-year-old man to death.
The man, named in reports as builder Robert Daley, was found with multiple stab wounds to the chest on 23 April.
Within 48 hours of the discovery police arrested the 14-year-old girl who had previously accused Robert Daley of sexually abusing her.
He was also said to have attacked her 18-year-old half-sister. Daley, who lived alone in the flat that overlooks a children's playground, was shunned by his family in the wake of the allegations.
But two weeks ago prosecutors decided there was insufficient evidence to take him to court and dropped the case. On Friday, 10 days after the prosecutors' decision, police were called at 6pm to reports of a serious assault at Daley's flat in Brixton, South London.
Police said the victim, who has not yet been formally identified, died from stab wounds to the chest.
He was found sprawled in a pool of blood in the doorway of his flat by neighbours.
Barry Boreland, who lived next door in the block of flats, said: "The door was open and I saw him lying on his back in the landing, his head furthest from the door.
"His legs were flopped out and there was blood everywhere. He was still conscious and managed to tell police his first name.
"His girlfriend was there and gave his surname. It was a shocking sight and very upsetting."
The teenager will appear in custody at Sutton Youth Court, the Metropolitan Police said.
The 18-year-old man arrested on Friday over the stabbing has been bailed until May.
