Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie Win Damages From NOTW
Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have accepted an undisclosed sum in damages from the News of the World at London's High Court.
The celebrity couple launched legal action against the newspaper in January, after they published a story which claimed that the couple were planning to separate, had visited a divorce lawyer and reached an agreement on dividing their assets and custody of their children.
The couple's lawyer said that the News of the World had accepted that the allegations were false and intrusive and had agreed to publish an apology.
The newspaper confirmed that a settlement had been reached and that they would also pay the couple's costs, donating the money to their charity, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.
The couple did not attend today's hearing.
