Bank Thieves Face Charges
Police investigating the theft from online bank accounts have charged ten people with conspiracy to defraud and laundering money.
The charges follow the arrest of 19 people across the south east.
Over the past three months, the Met Police Central e-Crime Unit were investigating £6m worth of theft from online accounts.
Between 13 October 2009 and 28 September 2010, Lloyds TSB, HSBC, Barclays Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland were allegedly targeted.
Those charged, originally from eastern Europe, used software to access bank log-in details.
They are due before Westminster Magistrates' Court later.
Ten people have been charged with conspiracy to defraud, eight of them will face the further charge of money laundering.
An eleventh person has been charged with offences under the Identity Cards Act 2005.
Six men and three women arrested as part of the investigation have been bailed until next month.

Magistrates in France have today postponed a decision on the extradition of Robert Williams, to the UK, after he was found with a teenage girl from Lincolnshire. Fifteen-year-old Laura Stainforth, was discovered in France last week with Mr Williams after going missing from her home.

Met Officers Arrested In Expenses Fraud Probe
Three Metropolitan police officers have been arrested over allegations they made inflated expenses claims while investigating the July 7 bombings, Scotland Yard has said. The officers were arrested on Tuesday in connection with a number of offences including misconduct in a public office, conspiracy to defraud, theft and false accounting.

Links Website Operator Faces Jail
A man who ran a site offering links to TV content has been convicted of conspiracy to defraud. Anton Vickerman, 41, will be sentenced next month and faces up to ten years in jail for charges relating to surfthechannel.com. His wife Karen was found not guilty on the same charges.

Bank Of England Maintains Bank Rate At 0.5%
The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee today voted to maintain the official Bank Rate paid on commercial bank reserves at 0.5%. The Committee also voted to maintain the stock of asset purchases financed by the issuance of central bank reserves at £200 billion. The previous change in Bank Rate was a reduction of 0.5 percentage points to 0.
