Ceiling Collapses On Bridgend Shoppers
Five people have been treated in hospital after a store ceiling in Bridgend town centre collapsed on shoppers.
Retailer Home Bargains, located on Market Street, was evacuated after the ceiling fell down around 1140 BST.
Five shoppers were treated in the store for minor injuries and were later taken to the Princess of Wales Hospital for checks.
As a precaution the Jobcentre and Poundstretcher, situated on either side of the store, were evacuated.
A Bridgend County Borough Council spokesperson said the authority was currently working with the emergency services to assess the damage and to ensure the safety of the public.
