Man Arrested Over Burnley Murder
A 50-year-old man is being held on suspicion of murder, following the discovery of a woman's body at a house in Burnley. The body was discovered at the house in Hobart Street around 6pm on Sunday. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lancashire Police.
Witnesses Sought Over Ashington Stabbing Death
Police investigating the death of a 28-year-old man in a Northumberland town have appealed for witnesses. The investigation was launched after police were called to the Co-Op store on The Square, Guidepost in Ashington, around 10:45am on Sunday, following reports that a man had been injured. The victim was taken to Wansbeck Hospital, but died shortly afterwards. A post-mortem revealed that he died from stab wounds. Two men, aged 27 and 29, have been arrested and remain in police custody. Appeal Over Dewsbury RTC
Police in Dewsbury have appealed for information following a fatal road traffic collision at the weekend. The incident happened around 4:20pm on Saturday, when a motorcycle and a Ford Fiesta collided at the junction of Wilton Street and Link Road, Dewsbury. The motorcyclist, a 41-year-old man from Cross Road, Dewsbury, was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them on: 01924 293047.

A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Bins on the route that missing schoolgirl Shannon Matthews would have taken on her way from school are being searched as the hunt for the missing nine-year-old continues. Fifty specialist officers have been brought in to search bins on the route between Shannon's school - Westmoor Junior School - and her home in Moorside Road, Dewsbury Moor.

Investigation Continues Into Shannon's Disappearance
The investigation into the disappearance of nine-year-old Shannon Matthews is continuing, amid increasing fears that she may have been abducted. Shannon has not been seen since she failed to return to her home in Moorside Road, Dewsbury Moor, West Yorkshire, following a school swimming trip on February 19.
