No Inquest Over Baby P
A north London Coroner has ruled that an inquest into the death of Baby Peter will not go ahead.
Shortly after Baby Peter Connelly was found dead, at his Tottenham home in 2007, an inquest was opened and then adjourned.
The toddler was discovered with more than 50 injuries in a blood-splattered cot.
Coroner for the case, Andrew Walker, said any questions surrounding the circumstances of Baby P's death were addressed in previous investigations and therefore there was insufficient cause for a further inquest.
Baby Peter's mother Tracey Connelly, her boyfriend Stephen Barker and Barker's brother Jason Owen were all jailed for their part in the toddler's death.
Earlier this month, in a pre-inquest hearing, the Coroner heard submissions from Lawyers including those representing Barker, the Metropolitan Police and Baby P's father.
They argued that an inquest would be expensive and that all facts had emerged during previous inquiries.
However the toddler's father, who cannot be named, is arguing for an inquest to take place to find out exactly what happened to his son.
