Matt Cardle Wins X-Factor

Former Painter and Decorator Matt Cardle has won the X Factor after millions of viewers placed their votes and tuned in for the final.

The voting statistics revealed that he was the hot favourite to win from the beginning of the series.

He pipped Liverpudlian Rebecca Ferguson to the post in the final sing-off.

Boyband One Direction came third after being voted off earlier in the talent contest's Sunday evening final.

Paul Kramer, Editor of the music magazine Hit Sheet, told Sky News: "He's got a great voice, he's worked hard, he's been in a band and now he's going to be a huge star, maybe an international star.”

Cardle's first single titled 'When we collide', a cover of Biffy Clyro's 'Many of horror', is now tipped to claim the Christmas number one slot.
