Terror Detention Change Announced
Home Office Minister Damian Green has announced changes to powers allowing terror suspects to be held for 28 days without charge.
Powers will be allowed to lapse next Tuesday, and will return to a 14-day limit.
The move follows a review by the government. Full findings will be announced next Wednesday.
The announcement is directed in response to a question in the House of Commons.
The 28-day limit was first implemented under the 2006 Terrorism Act by the Labour government and has been criticised by some civil rights groups.
Last year, the use of the 28-day limit was extended for six months while a full review got underway.

Drink Drive Limit May Be Reduced
The drink-drive limit is expected to be nearly halved if proposals curently being considered are enacted. Cutting the current limit of 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood to 50mg, combined with the current mandatory 12-month ban, would give the UK one of the toughest regimes in Europe.
