Man Charged With Joanna Yeates Murder
Police have charged a 32-year-old Dutch man with the murder of Joanna Yeates.
The 25-year-old landscape architect was found on Christmas day in Longwood Lane, Failand, eight days after she was reported missing from her home in Clifton, Bristol.
Avon and Somerset Police said Vincent Tabak, arrested on Saturday, lived next door to Yeates in Bristol. He will appear at the city's magistrates court later today.
The man was questioned on Thursday following a televised appeal by Yeates' parents for anyone with information about their daughter's death to come forward.
Miss Yeates was last seen around 8pm on 17 December after she had been out with colleagues in the Bristol Ram pub in Park Street.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Jones, who led the investigation, said in a statement: "This evening we have charged Vincent Tabak with the murder of Joanna Yeates.
"I would like to pay tribute to Jo's family and Greg (Yeates's boyfriend, Greg Reardon) for their assistance and dignity in the most difficult of circumstances. Their support to us has been invaluable."
