Search Continues For Missing 14-Year-Old Boy

Police in Hackney borough are appealing for assistance in tracing a teenage boy who is missing from Bristol. Javan Bryan, 14, was last seen at a care home in Bristol on Thursday 21 April. Javan is described as black, approx. 5' 7" in height and of slim build. Javan has contacts and family in Hackney and is believed to be in the Pembury, east London area. Anyone who sees Javan or knows of his whereabouts is asked to contact police.

Five Arrested In Birmingham Following Raids

Five people were arrested in Birmingham after UK Border Agency officers swooped on nine addresses across the city. A Pakistani man, 34, from Sparkhill was charged with seeking leave to remain by deception and has been remanded into custody. The other four individuals have been bailed pending further investigation. Officers found £10,280 at an address and seized the cash under the Proceeds of Crime Act. Paul Fitzpatrick, Solihull-based immigration crime team, UK Border Agency said: “Our investigation into possible criminal activity is continuing following this operation. Across the West Midlands, we are cracking down on immigration crime, detaining, prosecuting and removing people and gangs who have been abusing the immigration system through sham marriages, illegal working, people smuggling and document fraud.” Officers from Birmingham City Council, the Department for Work and Pensions and West Midlands Police also joined the operation which saw residential and business properties in Aston, Digbeth and Sparkhill targeted.

Police Appeal To Find Missing Soldier

Police are appealing for assistance to trace a 25-year old man who was last seen by his family in south London on Tuesday 31 May. Mehmet Ali Osman, a serving British soldier, left the address he was staying at in Southwark in order to report to Catterick army base in Yorkshire. Mehmet never kept this appointment. His family and police are now very concerned for his welfare. Police believe that Mehmet may have travelled to, and stayed at, an address in Lochgelly, Fife between Tuesday 31 May and Wednesday 1 June before going missing again. Mehmet is described as 5' 10" to 5' 11" in height and of proportionate, muscular build. Officers from Southwark Missing Persons Unit are investigating and request that anyone with any information should contact them.
