Couple Charged With Baby Murder
A couple from Lancaster have been charged with the murder of a four-month-old baby boy. The baby was admitted to Royal Lancaster Infirmary on November 17, 2010, after he was found collapsed at his home in the Scotforth area of Lancaster. He was transferred to Alder Hey Children's Hospital with a bleed to the brain, but died a few days later. Christopher Roberts, 18, of Great Dockray, Penrith and Karen Irvine, 18, of Lark Field, Penrith, have both been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a child. Both have been remanded in custody to appear before Lancaster Magistrates Court on August 11.
Three Arrested On Drugs Charges Near Newquay
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs after a vehicle was stopped on the A3059 near St Mawgan, Newquay. Officers stopped the car, which was heading to Newquay, around 5:30am on August 10 and discovered a large quantity of white powder, which is believed to be cocaine. Two 21-year-old men and an 18-year-old man from Huddersfield have been arrested.
Man Assaulted In Skegness
A 31-year-old man has suffered a serious head injury in an assault in Skegness. Police found the man when they attended an address in Wainfleet Road around 7:40pm on Wednesday. Seven people have been arrested in connection with the incident, including two women, aged 20 and 18 and five men, aged between 16 and 33. All are from Skegness and Wainfleet.

Suspected London bomber to be returned to UK
A British man wanted for questioning in connection with the failed London bomb attacks on July 21 is to be extradited to the UK within 35 days, an Italian court has ruled. Osman Hussein (27) will appeal the decision to the Italian Supreme court, according to his lawyers.

Man Charged With Murder Of Homeless Man
A man has been charged with the murder of a homeless man who died after an attack at a bus stop in the West-Midlands last month. The 35-year-old from Smethwick was charged and remanded in custody on Sunday, to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Monday morning.

23 Charged With Drug Offences Following Raids
More than 20 people have been charged with drug offences following a number of raids carried out in London, Gravesend, Dover and Deal. A total of 23 people were arrested during twenty raids carried out over three days. The suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 52, have all been charged in connection with the supply of class A drugs.

Police Dig Up Pub Patio In Search For Missing Landlady
Police investigating the disappearance of a landlady in Cambridgeshire in 1997 are digging up the patio of her former pub. Deborah Steel, 37, was landlady of the Royal Standard in Ely, Cambridgeshire, when she disappeared on 28 December 1997. Police have said that Ms Steel's disappearance is now being treated as a murder investigation.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.
