Clegg Doused In Blue Paint
The Deputy Prime Minister has been covered with blue paint by a protestor during a visit to Scottish supporters.
The attack happened during a closed meeting where Nick Clegg was scheduled to speak to Liberal Democrat supporters in Glasgow.
Police said one man had been arrested in connection with the incident, which took place at Woodside Hall.
Scottish Lib Dem leader Willie Rennie, who was also splattered in the attack, said two men entered the meeting and threw the paint.
Speaking on Real Radio Scotland shortly after the incident on Thursday evening, Mr Clegg said: "These things happen. It's not a big deal."
According to reports, the paint was on Clegg's face and clothing.
Meanwhile, a 61-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to a Conservative MP via email and social networking sites.
The Metropolitan Police said the man was arrested in Gloucester as part of an investigation into "malicious communication and threats" against the Corby and East Northamptonshire MP Louise Mensch.
The man has been taken into custody at a Gloucestershire police station where he remains.
Ms Mensch said she had received threats against her three children, and on her Twitter feed had written, "To those who sent it; get stuffed losers.
"I have contacted the police via the House of Commons and the email is with them now. I don't bully easily, kids. Or in fact at all."
