Ex-Scout Jailed For Historical Sex Offences.
An ex-Scout volunteer has been sentenced to four years I prison for sex offences committed on three boys between 1971 and 1980.
Keith David Cutler, 57, of Knowles Close, West Drayton, was sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on Friday for 10 child sex offences and being in possession of 257 indecent images of children.
He was also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Cutler pleaded guilty to ten counts of indecent assault and two counts of being in possession of indecent photographs of a child.
Detective Constable David Gill, of the Child Abuse Investigation Command (CAIC), said: "This is a historic case going back thirty years. For a period of nine years, Keith Cutler used his position of trust to abuse vulnerable boys during their childhood and adolescence.
"The victims in this case have suffered unimaginably for many years. I would like to pay tribute to their immense courage in coming forward, and their overwhelming bravery throughout this investigation.
On 19 March last year, officers were contacted by a man in his 40s to report that he had been sexually assaulted as a boy for five years by Cutler. On one occasion, the victim had been sexually assaulted by Cutler whilst away on a Scouts camping trip.
According to the Metropolitan Police, Cutler was arrested and interviewed by police, during which time officers searched his home address and found 238 images of naked children.
Shortly after, the enquiry identified a second man, in his 40s, who also alleged an offence by the defendant.
When the second man came forward, police further arrested Cutler and searched his home address where an additional 45 indecent images of children were found and seized. He was subsequently charged with the offences.
As a result of media publicity on Cutler's charges, a further third victim came forward to allege an additional offence. On November 22, he was arrested again, charged and remanded in custody.
All charges relating to the three victims were combined into one investigation and the subsequent court proceedings.
