Norwegian Mass Murderer Appears In Open Court

The man who confessed to murdering 77 people in Norway in July has appeared in court on Monday, facing a number of the attack's survivors. Anders Behring Breivik appeared in court in Oslo wearing a dark suit, as survivors, relatives of his victims and reporters looked on. The 32-year-old right-wing extremist stalked among young students armed with automatic weapons and knives during the 22 July attacks in Oslo at a youth camp on the island of Utoeya. About 30 survivors and relatives of the victims attended the hearing. Breivik is reported to have appeared "very calm and professional", but was stopped by the judge as he attempted to read out a prepared statement.
