Airbus Announces 200 Engineering Jobs
A total of 200 new jobs have been announced by Aircraft manufacturer Airbus for its base in Filton, near Bristol.
According to the company on Thursday, the new engineering jobs are due to demand for its A350 passenger plane and government investment in the plant.
The lightweight composite aircraft was due to come into service in 2013 but will now enter service in the first half of 2014.
Airbus has more than 550 orders for the A350 - which can carry 340 passengers.
'Huge orders'
Business Secretary Vince Cable was visiting Airbus on Thursday morning. The firm has received a conditional offer of funding from the government's £1.4bn Regional Growth Fund.

Co-Pilot Dies During Cyprus Flight
A flight travelling from Manchester to Cyprus on Sunday was forced to divert to Turkey after the co-pilot collapsed and died. The GB Airways Airbus A320, which had 156 passengers onboard, left Manchester at 2.20pm bound for Paphos, but was forced to divert to Istanbul when First Officer Michael Warrren, 43, was taken ill.

Airbus to cut 1,600 jobs in UK
European plane manufacturer Airbus has announced plans to cut 1,600 jobs in the UK over the next four years. More than 11,000 staff are employed by Airbus in the UK at sites in Filton near Bristol and Broughton, North Wales.

Emirates Cancels Order For 70 Airbuses
Dubai's Emirates Airline has cancelled a 2007 order for 70 of Airbus's A350 wide-bodied aircraft with deliveries due from 2019, following discussions over their 'fleet requirement review'. The order included 50 Airbus A350-90 and 20 of the model A350-1000.
