Find Madeleine Fund Decreases
Official records have revealed that the fund used to help find missing child Madeleine McCann has dwindled away to £125,000.
The fund stands at £125,175 down from £470,034 a year earlier according to accounts filed with Companies House.
The rapidly depleting fund left Madeleine McCann’s parents fearing that they would no longer have the funds required to pay private detectives to search for their daughter.
Mrs McCann published a book about her daughter's disappearance in May last year with all proceeds going toward the fund and to support the search.
Madeleine's Fund was launched a fortnight after the little girl vanished from her family's holiday apartment in Praia da Luz, southern Portugal, on May 3 2007. The income for 2007-08 totaled £1,846,178.
Last year the fund paid for a telephone hotline, an awareness raising campaign, fundraising events and private investigators.
