Body Found In Subway With Throat Slit
A man has been arrested following the murder of a woman in a subway in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The victim, who had her throat slit, was found lying face down in a pool of blood at the Bullbrook underpass in Bracknell, Berks.
The Oriental-looking woman, 43, who was also beaten was believed to be returning home from a night out.
It is thought she was taking a short cut through the underpass from the town centre towards one of the nearby estates.
A cyclist who had ridden past the body but did not have a mobile phone to alert cops told brothers Lee and Glenn Paul-Ferris, 22, he had seen the body.
The two brothers, both gardeners, were going to work.
Lee, 26, said: "She was on the floor and her hand was near a glass bottle which wasn’t broken. It looked like she had been drinking it. We went jogging up when we heard there was a body there as a man appeared and asked if we had a mobile.
"She was on the floor and there was blood all over the place. There was a lot on the floor around her and on the wall about 18 inches up.
"She was wearing a black leather jacket, black dress and black knee-high boots with stilettos. Her hat was lying nearby. Her hair was matted and over her face."
Police last night arrested a 28-year-old man from Bracknell and were questioning him on suspicion of murder. A spokesman said: “We would urge anyone who was in or around the area in the early hours of this morning and may have seen anything to please contact us as a matter of urgency."
