UK Gives Syrian Rebels Extra £5m
The UK will give an extra £5m to rebels involved the ongoing Syrian conflict.
Foreign Secretary William Hague described the UK's commitment of non-lethal equipment to the Free Syrian Army has "the right thing to do".
The extra practical support for the opposition FSA will include more radio and satellite equipment, as well as portable power generators.
It will not include any weapons.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Hague said the Syrian people need "urgent help" and "cannot wait indefinitely" for a peaceful resolution to the conflict. He also said they are at the "mercy of a regime that is hunting down its opponents".

The UK is to offer refuge to the "most vulnerable" affected by the conflict in Syrian. Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has said that priority will be given to girls and woman who have been the victim of, or at risk of, sexual violence, torture victims and elderly and disabled people.

The Met Office has issued warnings of snow and icy conditions across many parts of Britain this week. The yellow warnings are for Scotland, Northern Ireland, northern parts of Wales, northern England and areas of the Midlands.
