War fears sets global markets tumbling
Uncertainty over how long the war in Iraq will last has shaken global stock markets with the FTSE slipping by 84 points today.

Car Exports Hit Record High With 8% Increase
Despite a European slump in sales, UK car production has hit a four-year high, with exports reaching a record high. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) have said that UK factories built some 1.46 million vehicles in 2012, 1.21 million of which were then shipped abroad.

Although global stock markets had this morning reversed a dangerous slide into what was potentially a second worldwide crisis, European shares have since fallen further as investors continued to worry about the outlook for the global economy.

Stock Markets Fall As Debt Concerns Bite
Stock markets have experienced further falls as concerns persist over the effects of lending to high risk creditors. In trading yesterday, Wall Street saw falls of almost 1.3%, the Nikkei in Japan closed down just under 2% and Germany's DAX-30 dipped almost 2%. Among the largest fall was Hong Kong where 3.3% was wiped off share values.

Global Markets Rally After Rates Cut
A co-ordinated global interest rate reduction has helped rally international markets, following one of the most financially turbulent weeks experienced in decades. A massive capital injection by central government has helped banking shares boost the UK's FTSE 100 index by around 1.7%. France's Cac index grew by 2.7%, while Germany's Dax added 1.9%.

Four ex-British soldiers killed in Baghdad bomb attack
Four former British soldiers, employed as private security guards in Iraq, have been killed in a mortar attack, it has emerged today. It was reported that the Nepalese nationals died in a mortar attack on Baghdad's secure Green Zone yesterday. The bomb is believed to have landed inside their encampment.
