Girl Found Hiding Underneath Shooting Victims
A four-year-old girl was found alive hiding underneath the bodies of two women in the back of a car, the victims of a shooting near Lake Annecy in France.
It is understood she had been hiding there for up to eight hours.
Along with the two bodies in the back of the BMW people carrier a man was found dead in the drivers seat, and a second girl, thought to be around 6 or 7-years-old was found lying on the road seriously injured. She had been shot three times.
The vehicle is British registered and the victims are thought to be a UK family on holiday, believed to be a husband, wife, grandmother and two daughters.
A local cyclist was alos found dead at the scene, believed to have been “in the wrong place, at the wrong time”.
The young girl was initially not spotted inside the car as local police waited for forensic scientists to arrive from Paris.
It was only after enquiries at a campsite the family had stayed at that police discovered the family had a second daughter and a search was launched.
She was found around midnight, local time, having hidden under the legs of one of the dead women since the shooting occurred around 16.00 local time, some 8 hours previously.
She is now being looked after by French authorities as they try to established the victims identities.
