Prince Harry Deployed To Afghanistan
The Ministry of Defence have confirmed that Prince Harry has been deployed to Afghanistan for four months.
The prince, an Apache helicopter pilot, arrived on Thursday night at the main British base, Camp Bastion in Helmand.
The 27-year-old, who is third in line to the throne, will take part in combat missions against the Taliban.
It is his second Afghanistan deployment - he spent 10 weeks in Helmand province in 2007-08 but was pulled out after media reported his secret deployment.
Olympians Told Get Separate Honours List
It is understood that Britain's Olympians and Paralympians are to get their own honours list, rather than simply being included in the New Year's Honours.
The BBC have reported that while there has been no official confirmation of a separate honours list, Whitehall sources have told the BBC it will happen.
They said it would reflect the scale of achievement by British athletes.
Government Ease The Way For Faster Broadband
The government is changing planning permission rules to aid the rollout of faster internet speeds across the UK.
This includes permission for firms to install broadband cabinets and other related infrastructure on public land without local councils' permission in England.
It is also consulting about ways to shorten the time it takes to agree approval for cables and cabinet installation on private land UK-wide.

An additional 300 British troops are soon to be bound for Afghanistan. The news will be confirmed later today after Prime Minister Gordon Brown revealed the deployment, with Defence Secretary Des Browne due to give details in the Commons at 3.30pm.

More troops sent to Afghanistan
The British government is to increase the size of the contingent of troops serving in Afghanistan. The move comes to reinforce positions around the Kandahar airfield with an extra 130 troops from the RAF Regiment.

MoD names troops killed in Afghanistan
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed the names of three British soldiers who were killed in an ambush in Afghanistan. Captain Alex Eida, 2nd Lieutenant Ralph Johnson and Lance Corporal Ross Nicholls were killed in the northern Helmand Province on August 1.

US sends more Marines into Afghanistan
The US military has announced that it is to bulk up its presence in Afghanistan by sending thousands of Marines into the country. Some 2,200 Marines and sailors of the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit will shortly be deployed to Afghanistan, the US Joint Staff of Staff said today.
