Al Qaeda suspects jailed for 11 years
Two Al Qaeda suspects arrested in Bradford last year have both been sentenced to 11 years.
At Leicester Crown Court yesterday, the pair, Brahim Benmerzouga, 31, and Baghdad Meziane, 38, were found guilty of raising funds, recruiting and supplying activists loyal to Osama bin Laden.
In sentencing the men, Mr Justice Curtis recommended that they serve the full terms and be deported after the completion of their sentences.
Benmerzouga and Meziane were found to have stolen credit cards and raising around £200,000 for Al Qaeda activists.

Al-Qaeda Iraq chief Al-Zarqawi killed
Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, al-Qaeda's leader in Iraq, has been killed. Zarqawi, who was the most wanted man in Iraq and had a £25 million bounty on his head, was killed during a US air raid in a house just north of Baghdad, where Zarqawi and his associates were meeting.

Former Guantanamo Bay detainee Binyam Mohamed has claimed he would not have faced alleged torture and rendition, if it had not have been for British involvement in his case. Mr Mohamed, a UK resident, was released last week after spending seven years in captivity.

'British Hostage Beheaded': Al Qaeda Claims
The Prime Minister Gordon Brown has condemned the apparent killing of a British hostage held in north Africa, by al Qaeda militants. In a statement released by Downing Street, the PM said the government had "strong reason to believe" that an Al Qaeda cell in Mali had murdered Edwin Dyer.
