Tia Sharp To Be Buried In Private Funeral
Tia Sharp, the schoolgirl whose body was found at her grandmother’s home in south London, will be buried later today in a private funeral.
After being reported as missing and following an extensive search, police discovered Tia’s body at her grandmother Christine Sharp’s house in New Addington, Croydon, in August.
Ms Sharp's partner Stuart Hazell, 37, who has been charged with Tia's murder, is in custody and expected to make a plea at the Old Bailey on 19 November.
A provisional trial date has been set for 21 January.

The 37-year-old had denied charges of murder and sexual assault, claiming that Tia had died in an accident and panic had caused him to hide her body. According to reports, Hazell said the girl’s family had “suffered enough”.

Identity Of Body Confirmed As Tia Sharp
The body found in the attic of Christine Sharp’s house has been confirmed as that of Tia Sharp. The confirmation was made at the opening of the coroner’s inquest into her death. No further details, including the cause of the 12-year-old's death, were given during the five-minute hearing.
