Krays Rival Charlie Richardson Dies Aged 78
Charlie Richardson, the former London gangster, has died at the age of 78.
With his brother Eddie, Richardson led a criminal gang to rival the Kray twins and during the mid 1960s there were violent clashes between them.
In 1967, he was jailed for 25 years for fraud, extortion and assault, after a case known as the "Torture Trial".
Richardson's death was confirmed by friend Bobby Cummings.
In a statement, Mr Cummings said: "It is a great sadness to inform you, as many of you may have already heard, that my dearest friend Charlie Richardson passed away this morning."
No Charge Over Abusive Daley Tweet
No charges will be brought against a footballer arrested over an abusive message about Olympic diver Tom Daley.
Port Talbot Town FC suspended midfielder Daniel Thomas, 28, last month after a homophobic message was posted on Twitter.
The Director of Public Prosecutions said while it may be offensive it was not considered a criminal offence.
Mr Thomas was arrested and released on bail after a homophobic message referring to Daley and fellow Olympic diver Peter Waterfield was posted on Twitter.
Port Talbot Town FC officials claimed the player had been the victim of a "misguided prank" after leaving his phone unattended.
British Comedy Awards Founder Dies Aged 75
Michael Hurll, who produced The Two Ronnies and established the British Comedy Awards, has died aged 75.
The TV executive was also responsible for Top Of The Pops from 1980 to 1987, and worked on The Eurovision Song Contest and The Royal Variety Show.
He died peacefully on Tuesday morning, his son said in a statement.

Soldier Dies In Southern Afghanistan
A British soldier has been killed in an explosion in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has said. The serviceman from the 2nd Battalion the Mercian Regiment was on an operation near Garmsir in Helmand Province, and next of kin have been informed.

Two Arrested Over Hexham Murder
Police investigating the murder of an elderly woman in Hexham last week have arrested two people. Judith Richardson, 77, was found dead at her home on Saint Wilfrid's Road in Hexham on Friday evening, after officers called there following the discovery of her handbag in Newcastle city centre.

Paralympic cyclist Simon Richardson is in a critical condition in hospital after being injured in an alleged hit-and-run collision. According to reports, the 44-year-old from Porthcawl suffered multiple spine fractures, a broken pelvis and a broken breast-bone.
