Former Lloyds Head Of Security Jailed For Fraud
A former Lloyds Bank worker in charge of online security has been jailed over a £2.4m fraud.
50-year-old Jessica Harper submitted false invoices to claim payments between 2007 and 2011.
At the time, she was working as head of fraud and security for digital banking at the company.
Harper, of South Croydon, south London, admitted fraud by abuse of position and transferring criminal property defrauded from her employers.
Swansea Uni Research Students Turning To Sex Trade
The former chief constable of South Wales Police has called for research into the number of students in Wales working in the sex industry.
Barbara Wilding said there was an "emerging" picture of students turning to sex work, such as prostitution, erotic dancing and escort work.
A Swansea University project is trying to gauge the scale of the issue.
Swansea University is carrying out a three year study into concerns that students in Wales are turning to prostitution and other sex work.
It is feared some may have turned to it as a way of funding their studies.
However, there is only anecdotal evidence in Wales and the university believes an in-depth study into the issue is needed.
It has been given £489,143 of funding from the Big Lottery Fund to find out how big the issue is and to help provide support.
Public Sector Borrowing Hits Record High
UK public sector net borrowing was £14.4bn in August, the Office for National Statistics has said, the biggest deficit for the month since records began.
Corporation tax receipts fell by 2.1% and benefits payments rose 4.9%.
The figures make it more likely that the government will fail to achieve its aim of wiping out the structural budget deficit by 2015.

Man Found Guilty Of £79k Lottery Fraud
A shop worker has been found guilty of trying to con a lottery syndicate out of more than £79,000. Imran Pervais, 26, was said to have misled a group after their winning ticket matched five balls and the bonus ball. As a result, the ticket was worth £79,887, but Mr Pervais told the group they had only won £10.

A company boss who committed fraud against the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison. James McLaughlan, 58, from Ayrshire who appeared before Southwark Crown Court admitted to conspiring to defraud the MoD out of £424,923.
