Fire alerts cause chaos on reopened Tube line
Two fire alerts caused chaos as rush-hour commuters tried to use services on the newly reopened Tube line.
The Central Line section through London's West End has been closed since the derailment at Chancery Lane station on January 25 which injured 32 people.
The reopening was supposed to bring eight key stations back online, but a section from Marble Arch to Holborn was closed from around 5.50am to 8.10am dues to a fire alerts at both Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road stations.
The reopening reconnects services west and east of London services and London Underground has gradually brought modified trains back into service following the derailment.
London Underground recently admitted that normal services on the line could not be restored as laid up rolling stock had been cannibalised for spare parts to refit trains in service elsewhere.
